Getting around Universal City
The complex sits on a hill above the 101 with a single main access road from Universal Hollywood Drive. The parking structures are at the bottom and the park entrance at the top, connected by escalators and a walkway — a genuinely long journey with tired children at the end of a day.
Drop-off at the designated rideshare and livery area removes that walk almost entirely. We use it rather than the public parking.
The 101 runs directly below, with Burbank Airport six miles north and Hollywood five minutes over the hill.
