Pre-agreed collection point
Universal sits on a hill with the parking structures at the bottom and the park entrance at the top, connected by a long series of escalators and walkways.
It is a manageable walk at 9am and a genuinely unpleasant one at closing time with tired children, which is the entire case for being dropped off.
Arriving at Universal Studios Hollywood
We use the designated drop-off area near the entrance rather than the public parking structures, which removes most of that walk.
Halloween Horror Nights in the autumn is the busiest period, with heavy traffic on Universal Hollywood Drive on evenings — we build in extra time and agree a collection point clear of the queues.
Hollywood Burbank Airport is roughly six miles away, which makes same-day arrivals straightforward.
