Long Beach is the airport people are pleasantly surprised by. The historic 1941 terminal is genuinely handsome, security rarely runs long, and the walk from gate to kerb is short enough that a chauffeur waiting at arrivals will usually see you within a few minutes of the aircraft door opening.
It serves a useful catchment: Long Beach itself, the northern edge of Orange County, and the stretch of Los Angeles County that finds LAX more trouble than it is worth.
Meeting your chauffeur at LGB
Ground transportation collects from the arrivals area immediately outside the terminal. Because the airport is compact, there is no shuttle ride between terminal and pickup zone and no long internal walk.
Your chauffeur tracks the flight and will be in position as you land. Contact details are sent to you the day before travel.
Where LGB makes more sense than LAX
For anyone in Long Beach, Seal Beach, Los Alamitos, Cypress, Lakewood or the northwestern corner of Orange County, LGB is materially closer than LAX and considerably less stressful at both ends.
The trade-off is route coverage — LGB serves a smaller set of destinations. Where the flight exists, though, the door-to-gate time is hard to beat.
Groups and events
The Long Beach Convention Center sits about four miles from the airport, which makes LGB the natural arrival point for conference groups. We run mini coaches and motorcoaches directly from the terminal to downtown Long Beach hotels and the convention centre.
