Getting around Newport Beach
The city divides into places that are easy to reach and places that are not. Newport Center and the inland side are straightforward. The Balboa Peninsula in July is the opposite — a single road in and out, and parking that disappears by mid-morning. Being dropped at the door is worth a great deal on a summer Saturday.
Balboa Island has its own constraint: narrow streets and limited parking, with the ferry as the alternative route. We know which end to approach from.
Newport Coast and the Pelican Hill area sit up the hill toward Crystal Cove, roughly fifteen minutes from Fashion Island but a different world for pickup logistics.
