Silverado Canyon is rural Orange County — a narrow canyon running up into the Cleveland National Forest, with a single road in and out and houses scattered along it. It is a twenty-minute drive from Irvine and a completely different world.
The transportation constraints here are real rather than stylistic. The road is narrow, winding and in places has no shoulder, and a large vehicle is genuinely a poor idea.
Getting around Silverado Canyon
Silverado Canyon Road is the only route, running east from Santiago Canyon Road. It narrows as it climbs, and turning a long vehicle at the upper end is difficult.
We size the vehicle to the road rather than to the party. A sedan or a standard SUV is appropriate for almost all canyon work; a Sprinter needs the specific address checked first, and a coach is generally not viable.
