Pomona sits at the junction of the 10, the 57, the 60 and the 71 — one of the most connected points in the region — and holds two substantial institutions in the Fairplex and Cal Poly Pomona.
The LA County Fair each autumn is the single largest event driver, filling the Fairplex and congesting the surrounding freeways.
Getting around Pomona
The Fairplex sits north of the 10 with its own extensive parking and event access, and it also hosts the NHRA Winternationals at the adjacent dragstrip.
Cal Poly Pomona is south of the 10 off the 57, with its own campus access. Downtown Pomona around Second Street holds the Arts Colony.
The freeway junctions make routing flexible in most directions, though they also concentrate congestion.
