Malibu is twenty-one miles of coastline served by essentially one road. When Pacific Coast Highway is clear the drive is one of the best in California; when it is not, there is no alternative route.
That single-road geography is the defining fact of transportation here, and it is why timing matters more than distance.
Getting around Malibu
Pacific Coast Highway runs the length of the city, with residential streets and canyon roads branching off it. Beachfront addresses along PCH often have limited turning space and no safe waiting area, so we agree a specific pickup arrangement.
The canyon roads — Malibu Canyon, Topanga, Kanan Dume — connect over the mountains to the Valley and the 101, and are sometimes the faster route depending on where you are going.
PCH is subject to closures from weather, slides and fire. We check conditions before travel rather than assuming the road is open.
Neighbourhoods we serve in Malibu
We collect from anywhere in Malibu. Telling us the neighbourhood as well as the street helps us route correctly and time the pickup properly.
Airport transportation from Malibu
Malibu is served by Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR), Long Beach Airport (LGB) and John Wayne Airport (SNA). Every airport booking includes real-time flight tracking, so a delayed arrival moves your pickup automatically at no additional charge.
| Airport | Approx. distance | Typical journey |
|---|---|---|
| Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) | 30 miles | Typically 50–90 minutes along PCH; heavily dependent on conditions. |
| Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR) | 30 miles | Over the canyon roads to the 101 — often quicker than LAX. |
| Long Beach Airport (LGB) | 50 miles | Around 80 minutes or more. |
| John Wayne Airport (SNA) | 68 miles | Allow well over 90 minutes. |
Corporate transportation in Malibu
Residential and hospitality rather than corporate. Business travel is executives departing from home addresses, and corporate retreats at the coastal properties.
Weddings and events in Malibu
Coastal weddings at the beachfront and clifftop venues run through spring and summer. Guest parking at most Malibu venues is genuinely limited, which makes a shuttle from a hotel or staging area close to essential.
Pepperdine University hosts graduations and events with its own campus access.

Questions
Malibu transportation FAQs
Approximately 30 miles and typically 50 to 90 minutes, entirely dependent on Pacific Coast Highway conditions. Because there is no alternative route along the coast, we build in real margin for early flights.
They can. PCH is subject to weather, slide and fire closures, and there is often no parallel route. We check conditions before travel and use the canyon roads to the 101 when the coast road is not viable.
Yes, and it is usually necessary rather than optional. Guest parking at most Malibu venues is very limited, so a shuttle from a hotel or staging area is the practical solution.
